SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair

The SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ is intended to help control people who are in medical and behavioral health environments that need to be restrained because they are at risk of hurting themselves or other people. If used properly it can reduce the risk of physical harm to both the detainee and staff. Violent behavior may mask dangerous medical conditions; therefore detainees must be monitored for and provided with medical treatment if needed. Detainees should not be left in the SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ for more than two hours. The SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ should never be used as a means of punishment.

Specifications - Full Size Model

• One-piece box steel welded frame for long life and durability
• Handles people from 80 lbs. to 400 lbs.
• Chair weights 80 lbs.
• Chair dimensions, 45-1/2” Long, 28-1/2” Wide, and 42” High (fits through a standard 30” wide door)
• Chair dimensions on a standard pallet for shipping, 48” Long, 40” Wide, 46 inches High
• Shipping weight with a pallet is 110 lbs (we use 150 lbs.)
• Heavy duty 8” diameter wheels with a rated capacity of 350 lbs. each
• 18” Hook ’n Loop soft restraint straps at the wrist, ankle, and elbow for secure restraint of detainees while providing maximum comfort
• Elbow straps ensure full-restraint of detainee
• No locking mechanisms for quick release of detainees in urgent situations
• Memory foam headrest reduces chances of head injuries and provides greater comfort
• Parking brakes on wheels keep the chair in place during the restraint process
• High density polypropylene skid plate mounted underneath the foot plate allows for easier chair rotation (not intended for transport).
• Shoulder straps do not cross the chest and therefore do not restrict breathing
• Chair is easy to use and adjustable for most sized people
• Keeps detainee and handlers SAFE!

• Chair dimensions, 45-1/2” Long, 26-1/2” Wide, and 42” High (fits through a standard 28” wide door)
• Ankle and wrist straps are 14” Hook ’n Loop soft restraint straps for secure and comfort of smaller detainees
• All other specifications and features of the Junior Chair are identical to the full-sized SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair™

Chair Cleaning Instructions
The SoftGuard Medical Safety Restraint Chair™ will need to be cleaned and sanitized after being used, and we recommend mixing one cup (8 fl. oz.) of bleach with one gallon of hot water. You can use this solution on the chair frame and all straps.
