Why It's Build This Way

Weather protection without compromising mobility

The Artaxes performs confidently in changing weather while maintaining the flexibility expected from a premium stretch softshell.

Its Storm|Tex™ laminated membrane provides an 8,000 mm water-resistant fabric rating, while the outer shell is treated with a C0 DWR Grade 4 liquid repellant coating. This advanced finish causes water to bead and roll off the surface while also helping repel mud, dirt and many common liquid-based stains, keeping the jacket cleaner and easier to maintain.

To preserve the fabric's natural stretch and freedom of movement, the seams are intentionally left untaped. Seam taping would reduce flexibility and compromise the mobility expected from a performance softshell. As a result, the Artaxes is highly water resistant but not fully waterproof, providing an ideal balance between weather protection, breathability and unrestricted movement.

Built For Active Use

The lightweight stretch construction allows unrestricted movement during climbing, kneeling, crawling and other demanding tasks, while reinforced elbow and forearm panels increase durability in high-wear areas.

Large, zippered underarm ventilation openings allow excess heat to escape during high levels of activity. Each opening is protected by an insect-blocking mesh, allowing continuous airflow while preventing insects and debris from entering the jacket.

Inside, the Grid|Tech™ waffle fleece lining creates hundreds of small air channels that trap warm air while allowing moisture and excess body heat to escape. This provides excellent warmth for its weight, dries quickly, feels comfortable and reduces unnecessary bulk compared to traditional fleece linings.

Storage designed around your equipment

Traditional lower hand pockets often become difficult or impossible to access when wearing body armor or a chest rig. The Artaxes avoids this by placing storage where it remains usable.

Two large chest utility pockets provide easy access without sacrificing mobility.

Additional storage includes a left shoulder utility pocket and a left forearm utility pocket, ideal for identification, notebooks, markers, gloves or other frequently used items, again, accessible while wearing armor, rigs or bagpacks.

A left internal pocket keeps documents, valuables or electronic devices secure and protected and features a dedicated cable slot.

At the rear, a large lower back cargo pocket features side entrances, allowing access while wearing armor or a backpack. Its generous size makes it ideal for storing gloves, hats, maps, lightweight clothing or other field essentials.

A concealable hood provides additional protection when conditions change and stores neatly inside the collar when not required, maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
