Our origins date back to 1999 with the establishment of LEGEAR in New Zealand. In response to high demand from Australian agencies, the business relocated to the Gold Coast in 2003 and quickly became the supplier of choice for federal and state departments. From 2003 to 2016, LEGEAR played a leading role in the tactical supply industry.

In 2016, LEGEAR was sold to Australian Defence Apparel (ADA). By 2018, driven by continued demand from long-standing customers, the original team reassembled and acquired Tactical Distributors — a respected competitor founded in 2007 — reviving access to trusted tactical brands that were no longer available through existing suppliers.

Since then, Tactical Distributors has secured exclusive distribution rights to many of the world’s most trusted tactical brands. Our global footprint has expanded through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Today, we operate with purpose-built offices and dedicated teams in:
